Mason JONES ^{[1] [2]} was born ^[3] in 1784/1785 in Culpeper Co., Virginia, American Colonies. He died in 1850/1852 in near community of Texas, Heard Co., GA. He was buried in Heard County, GA, Buried Wood Cemetery (unmarked).

Relationship: Richard Dowdy married Nancy E. Jones, daughter of Randal, Mason’s brother.

Mason married Frances (Franky) NOLAND daughter of William SR. NOLAND and Frances "Frankie" FLORENCE in 1802 in Lincoln Co., Ga. Frances was born in 1780/1789 in Culpepper Co., Virginia. She died in 1840 in Oglethorpe Co., Georgia. Frances, wife of Mason, is not listed in the 1840 Census, so she died prior to then.

Mason and Frances had the following children:

(i.) Son, Henry P. JONES was born on 17 Mar 1804. He died on 19 Mar 1880.

(ii.) Daughter, Emily JONES was born in 1805/1807. She died in 1850 in Heard Co., GA. Never Married.

(iii.) Son, Moses JONES was born in 1808 in Oglethorpe Co., Ga. He died in Mar 1882 in Newton, Dale Co., AL. He was buried in Newton Cem., Dale Co., Ala.

(iv.) Son, William JONES was born ^[4] in 1811 in Oglethorpe Co., GA. He died on 29 Jun 1855 in Randolph Co., AL. On 1850 Census Heard Co. GA. Occupation Mechanic. William and wife Frances Mat(t)hews Jones lived next door to Charles L. Mat(t)thews, brother of Frances. Note: Census spells name Matthews.

(v.) Daughter, Lucy Ann Catherine JONES was born on 01 Feb 1830 in Oglethorpe, GA. She died on 25 Jan 1908 in Texas, Heard, GA. She was buried in Old New Hope Baptist Cemetery, Texas (town), Heard Co. GA. Lucy A(nn) C(atherine) Jones is listed on the 1850 Census of Heard County GA page 148b, line 12. Age listed as 17, actual birthday known to be Feb. 01, 1830; so age should have been 20 if previous data is correct.

(vi.) Son, Alfred Nolen JONES I was born on 02 Jul 1823. He died on 15 Feb 1910. See Alford Nolen Jones Family for details.
