John LANHAM [1] was born in 1690 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. He died on 04 Feb 1763 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England.

John married [1] Mary DICKINSON on 11 Feb 1708 in St John Parrish, Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. Mary was born about 1688 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England.

They had the following children: Thomas Jr., John III, Mary, William, Elizabeth, Eleazer (Ely), Elisha, Elizabeth (second time) and Dorothy Lanham.

John’s will reads: [2]

 In the name of God, Amen, I John Lanham Senior of Prince George's County thro the Mercy and goodness of God the weak in body yet of a perfect understanding this my last will and Testament as follows I make and appoint my beloved wife Executrice of this my last will and Testament and charge her with all my debts legacies and funeral charges.

 Item - I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter, Daurity (Dorothy) on Hundred and six acres of land which I had by my wife; and she is willing to give it to hir after hir death where unto she Doth set her hand and seal; to hir and hir heirs and assigns for ever.

 Item - I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary all and singular my moveable Estate during hir life and after hir Decease to be equally divided between my six children, Vis. Thomas, Mary, Eleazer, Elisha, Elizabeth and Daurity, as Witness my hand and seal this 4th day of February 1763.

(i.) Son, Thomas LANHAM [1] [3] Jr. was born on 07 Mar 1709 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. Thomas married Margaret (maiden name unknown). Margaret was born ca 1716 and died 1761-1766.

Note
 Thomas Lanham with wife Sarah was an uncle of this Thomas Jr., probably the reason for the Jr.

Thomas and Margaret had three sons and four daughters; Elizabeth, Jesse, Mary, Henry, Renna, Martha and John Dickinson Lanham.

(i.a). Elizabeth Lanham, was born 19 April 1732.

(i.b). Jesse Lanham, was born 2 January 1733/34, and married Elizabeth who was born 1739. Their children:

  • Henry Dickinson, born 25 July 1760 in Frederick Co.

  • Margaret Lee baptized 7 February 1762.

  • Jesse Brookes baptized 17 June 1764.

  • Thomas Humter Piles, baptized 24 November 1765.

  • Terresha, born 28 September 1773.

1766 Census showed they had eight children.

(i.c) -Mary Lanham, was born 17 February 1736.

(i.d) -Henry Lanham, was born 30 March 1739.

(i.e) -Renna Lanham, was born 3 April 1742.

(i.f) -Martha Lanham, was born 3 November 1745.

(i.g) -John Dickinson Lanham, was born 25 December 1748, and married Susannah Allen, 17 February 1791, they had a son, John Bean Lanham who married Susannah Day 12 July 1789. Daughter, Elizabeth born 31 August 1794.

(ii.) Son, John LANHAM [1] was born on 14 Aug 1712 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. He died in 1750. John married (1) [4] Mary PILE on 16 Jan 1739 in ,, Maryland, Colony of England. Mary was born 30 may 1721. Mary and John had one son, Hunter.

(ii.a) Hunter Lanham, was born 15 March 1739.

John married (2) Sarah PILE [3] and they had three sons and one daughter; Basil, Allen, Hezekiah and Charity Lanham.

(ii.c) Allen Lanham, married Sene. Allen died 1776, Children:

  • Elisha

  • Catherine, born 5 April 1772. Married Andrew Fraser 1792.

  • Price, died young

(ii.d) Hezekiah Lanham, married Bersheba, died 1792, Bersheba was born 1761 and died 30 January 1839. their children:

  • Mildred, born 15 November 1774, married Jesse Tolbot 16 November 1794.

  • Charlotte, born 11 March 1779.

  • Lucretin

  • Sarah, born 14 August 1781

  • John, born 3 March 1783, died 27 November 1783.

  • Asa, born 3 October 1784.

  • Meek, born ca 1790, died August 1850.

  • Letitia, born ca 1792, died 13 March 1862.

(ii.e) Charity Lanham, married Solomon Lanham, a grandson of Edward and Asenath Lanham, and a son of Josias and Mary Lanham, 14 January 1778. Solomon was born 2 January 1753, and died 1796-1801. Charity died 1801. Their children:

  • Salle married Benedict Barns 7 March 1801.

  • Walter went to South Carolina (DOC.S.W. Wesson Jr. Line)

  • Josias, went to South Carolina

  • Rezin, went to South Carolina

  • Sarah Ann, married William Bryan 1809.

Thomas Lanham Jr., and John Lanham III, conveyed to John Hawkins Jr., 19 September 1738 for 4,400 pounds of tobacco, land in Prince George’s Co., called "Chance", an inheritance from their father John Lanham Jr. [5]

(iii.) Daughter, Mary LANHAM [1] [3] was born on 03 Jan 1714 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. Mary married (1) John PALMER [3] on 22 February 1735. They had a daughter, Rachel, and a son William Palmer.

  • (iii.a) Rachel Palmer, was born 30 November 1737, and married Henry Richard Bryan 30 January 1757.

  • (iii.b) William Palmer, was born 23 January 1752.

John Lanham Jr. and wife Mary conveyed 100 acres of land

 "with all and Singular the Rights Members and Appurtenances, Dwelling Houses out houses fences Orchards easements Privileges profits and Advantages Whatsoever to the afores'd Land and Premises belonging....." unto Mary the wife of John Palmer Jr., May 2, 17421.

iv. Son, William LANHAM [1] [3] was born on 21 Sep 1717 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. He died before 04 Feb 1763. William married (1) Cassandra. [3] William married (2) Sarah PILE Sarah was born 1734. They had a son, Henry Piles Lanham. William died before 4 February 1763.

  • (iv.a) Henry Piles Lanham

(v.) Daughter, Elizabeth LANHAM [1] [3] was born on 22 Sep 1720 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. She died young.

(vi.) Daughter, Eleazor (Ely) LANHAM [1] [3] was born on 03 Jan 1723 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. He died in 1767. Eleazor married (1) Christean STONESTREET. [1] [3] Christean was born ca 1730. They had two sons and two daughters; George, Mary, Eleazer, and Cloe Lanham.

  • (vi.a) George Lanham, was baptized 7 February 1762, and died 18 July 1793.

  • (vi.b) Mary Lanham, was baptized 3 October 1763, married John Frazier 25 Oct 1789, and they had a son, George Lanham Frazier. Mary died 23 July 1838.

  • (vi.c) Eleazer Lanham, was born ca 1766 and died 1810.

  • (vi.d) Chloe Lanham, married a Mr. Finley.

After Eleazer died, Christean married (2) Leonard Fry.

(vii.) Son, Elisha LANHAM [1] [3] was born on 23 Jun 1725 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. Elisha married [1] Jemima [1] [3] in 1740. They had one son and two daughters; Charity Bayne, John Rollins and Meniah Lanham.

  • (vii.a) Charity Bayne Lanham, born ca 1759.

  • (vii.b) John Rollins Lanham, born ca 1763.

  • (vii.c) Meniah Lanham, born ca 1769.

(viii.) Daughter, Elizabeth LANHAM [6] (second time) was born on 21 Dec 1727 in , Prince Georges, Maryland. Elizabeth married Daniel FRASER. Daniel was born on 14 Aug 1725. They had two sons: William Lanham and Simon Alexander Fraser.

  • (viii.a) William Lanham Fraser, baptized 28 June 1752.

  • (viii.b) Simon Alexander Fraser, baptized 3 November 1765

(ix.) Daughter, Dorothy LANHAM [1] was born in 1729/1730 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. She died about 1818 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, USA. Dorothy married [1] Francis PILE [1] son of John PILE and Mary Ann HUNTER about 1746/53 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. Francis was born in 1730 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. He died in 1764 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. They had nine daughters and one son: Lucy, Mary Dickinson, Sarah, Ann, Francis, Henry Humphrey, Elizabeth, Jemimah, Winifred and daughter Piles.

  • (ix.a) Lucy Piles. baptized 7 November 1753.

  • (ix.b) Mary Dickinson Piles. born 28 May 1755.

  • (ix.c) Sarah Piles, born 24 August 1757.

  • (ix.d) Ann Piles, was born 1758 and married John Allen 12 October 1786. Ann died 19 March 1832 and John died 16 November 1845.

  • (ix.e) Francis Piles, was baptized 7 February 1762.

  • (ix.f) Henry Humphrey Pile, was baptized 3 October 1763 and married Elizabeth Wallingford 6 August 1779.

  • (ix.g) Elizabeth Piles, was baptized 3 August 1766 and married John Mangum, 4 August 1785.

  • (ix.i) Winifred Piles, was born ca 1773.

  • (ix.j) daughter Piles, born ca 1772, died 19 January 1846.
